Joining hands with Anna Hazare

Volunteers, including members of the public and school students, formed a human chain and staged a demonstration under the banner of Thottappalayam Anbu Nenjangal and Volunteers Service Centre, Thottappalayam, in front of the Draupathiamman Temple ground in Thottappalayam here on Wednesday. They were expressing support for the fast undertaken by social activist Anna Hazare demanding a strong Lokpal Bill.

Speakers at the venue of the agitation said corruption could be weeded out only if all people stay united in their struggle to establish a corruption-free society.

Twenty-five members of Youth Wing of Sathuvachari, Vellore observed a fast opposite the Collectorate in support of the fast undertaken by Anna Hazare. Fifteen members of Bharat Freedom From Corruption Movement observed a fast in front of the New Bus Stand in Gudiyatham.

Cadres of Hindu Munnani on Wednesday offered prayers to Lord Annamalayar and performed ‘angapradakshanam' for Anna Hazare.

A total of 29 cadres performed the ritual .
